“New Year, New Me” as the quote goes.
This time of year there can be so much pressure felt to be the “better” version of yourself. The one that reads more, works harder, works out every day. The one that is kinder, more patient, more relaxed. It is the time to set intentions, resolutions, and the tone for the rest of the year.
But this year when making your resolutions, before you resolve to become a whole new you, if you so choose, make sure you take a step back to acknowledge all that you already are! The one who has hurt and healed; broken and rebuilt over and over again. The weary. The celebratory. The thinkers. The comedians. The students. The industrious & creative. The ambitious. The musicians & the artist. The nurturers & the teachers. The happy & the sad. The wandering & the focused. The broken & the recovering. The hopeless & the hopeful.
At Live Oak we believe in self-development, growth, and finding the strongest version of yourself. You are already so much, and you can’t move forward without recognizing all that you have overcome to get to where you are today.
This year, instead of making resolutions, we are choosing ONE word for the year. We challenge you to do the same!
Maybe you are working on “Patience.”
Perhaps you are trying to find “Resilience” in uncertainty.
Or maybe you are longing for “Inspiration.”
This word can be a reminder for the year. When the weight of the world feels heavy, we can come back to the one word intention that we set to find respite and remind ourselves of our individual focus.
What will your word be?
