We have loved getting to know Jamie & Daniel. Having them as our Midtown neighbors, we always love seeing their smiling faces and working together on making this neighborhood an even better place to live & work. We love seeing Jamie’s heart for people and watching her in action. Enjoy learning a bit more about our awesome neighbor!
Can you tell us a little about yourself?
I’m a midwestern gal who loves the mid-western hospitality and Michigan for summer camping and fluffy snow. I have a passion for people, and real estate.
What about your family?
I have a loving and supportive husband, Daniel Broderick, who’s responsible for our families dreams. Together, we have three beautiful children Keean, age 4, Dylan 2 years, and Chase 2 years. Our two sassy corgi’s are our guard dogs 🙂
Where have you put down roots?
Although I’m from Midland, my past ties to Leipzig, Germany and Big Rapids, Michigan. In Midland, we consciously grounded ourselves by purchasing our forever home as close to downtown as we could find. I LOVE supporting local, and all of the development in Midland.
How many years have you lived in Midland
Oh boy. If my blood had a type other than O+, it would be “Midland”. Midland has been home for 32 glorious years. Although I spent 2.5 years in Germany and 5 years in Big Rapids, Midland will always be home.
In what ways are you involved in our community?
I LOVE Midland. I give back in every way I can. I try to do what’s passionate to me, so that I can give it my all. I find a huge passion with working Women, Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Business. I love guiding and leading my team; coaching them to be their best selves, and how to be profitable (something that I feel most business owners have a hard time with). I love doing physical labor! You can find me volunteering for organizations like United Way, Habitat for Hummanity, and self-proclaimed events like community clean-ups. I volunteer heavily with Junior Achievement, by sitting on the Board of Directors, and working with students in the classroom. I was 19 years old before I started to discover business in the world of potential professional concentrations, and I want to help guide today’s youth to consider business. I also play cornet in Mid Michigan Brass Band. MMBB is a local band my dad started and although I enjoy playing, I enjoy spending the time with my dad every week, doing something he loves.
How do you want to change or improve Midland?
The only thing I can say is that I want all of Midland to be like it was when I grew up. I stayed out late, rode my bike and played in the mud, using sunset as my clock. My parents were happy that I was with friends. I wish my boys experience a safe Midland, with a lot of healthy family events.
What are your dreams?
My husband has taught me to be courageous. My son Keean convinces me to dance in the rain. My son Dylan, has challenged me to be grateful, and my son Chase reminds me to be happy. I dream that I live my life to be these things every day.
What are you passionate about?
I adore seeing new parts of this world, eating like I’ve never eaten before, and leading people through faith, love, and strength.
What breaks your heart?
I fear someday I will die before I’m ready. Watching others die before they’re ready is absolutely heartbreaking to me. I do everything I can to ensure that if I die before I’m ready that my loved ones have my words and feel my love, forever.
How have the winds of life made you stronger?
Anxiety is a real thing. I think I suffered from anxiety recently, for the first time in my life. I know that I live a life that most would consider crazy (we don’t stop or wait for our dreams– there’s never a good time) but I think it’s the craziness that we work through that makes us stronger.
Will you share more of your faith story with us?
I’ve always believed in a higher power (I was raised Catholic) but honestly, my husband Daniel, has been my faith strength. During every hardship, question, or celebration- Daniel constantly reminds me that if we turn to God, all questions will be answered, all hardships will have guidance, and all celebrations are with Him.
Where do you get your grounding?
I realized the other day that I’m living a life that my 7 year old self could never fathom. I get my grounding by being humble, and I get my humility from constant reminders to me from my parents, my Team at Bricks, and my family. I am incredibly grateful for the life I live.
Finally, do you have a favorite quote you could leave us with?
“What you think, you become. What you feel, you attract. What you imagine, you create.”
Thank you for your vulnerability and sharing with us. We truly value getting to know you better.
